Hi all in MFP. This was my post a little over two moths ago.
"Hello everyone out there in the MFP community! Greetings from Texas. I am Reggie Hampton, a twenty year old college student and I have a goal.
A goal, to lose 30 lbs by the end of summer. Granted, I live in Texas so technically it doesn't start to cool down until Mid-late October so that's where I have my sights set, if not sooner. Back in high school, believe it or not, I played Defensive end for a 5A school. I know right, A five 10, 205 lb defensive end in 5A football...in Texas?! Yes, it was a struggle but I was damn good at what I did and I felt good, looked good. I mean, I worked out every day do most of the extra weight was muscle. Being as such, I never really cared that it said I was overweight, because I had the muscle, I worked out every day, and my coaches continued to tell
me to try and bulk up. So that's what I did, however, that all stopped when football was over. However, I continued to sparsely work out if I ever had time, and the scale always said 205, or close to that range.
The realization hit me that I was unhealthy when I took a visit to my doctor about a week ago. Who performed a physical on me while also taking my body fat percentage. Back in high school, it was 15 %, right now. It's 33%. I was blown away at the results and at the fact that I'd never even noticed.
But I have noticed now and I plan to do something about it. That's why I'm on MFP. It's time to get healthy again. And about looking good and feeling good, because 33% does not feel good anymore now that I know it's there. So if there's anyone that would like to join the 30LC, let me know. Add me as a friend. We'll go on this journey to fitness, one struggle at a time until it becomes triumphs and everyday activities. Even if you don't have 30 lbs to lose, and it's 10 lbs or 5 lbs you can join. And if it's 100 lbs, than I'd be happy to let you in as well. 30 is just a number, my number, you have your own numbers and I'm sure motivation can go a long way.
With that, I wish you all a blessed day and happy logging

And I'm happy to announce that I am damn near that goal. Only ten lbs more and I will have succeeded. I'm amped up and it's all thanks to the people who helped me along the way. So I'd love to return that help with you all. Be it motivation as they friend on here cheering you on or kicking you in the rear when necessary.
There's also the group I created called "30LC" on here and they are my support group. I'd love to help you all. So if you're interested pm me, friend me, whatever.
With love,
Hamp
