I'm going on vacation, and I'm going to keep running- I like the idea of running on the beach. Any advice? I'm not sure if I should run with shoes or without. Not to mention any other nuggets of wisdom you could provide

Wear your shoes, unless you are not going very far. You will find that, if your feet are not used to sand, you will get chafing, and even blisters, maybe, on those parts of your feet that do not normally come into contact with ground, like the middle part of your toe. The skin is not as thick on those parts of your foot, and, of course, sand is quite abrasive.

Change up the direction of your run every day... the slope of the beach is murder on your skeletal alignment and can really screw with your ankle, knee, hip joints, etc.

Great advice from both posters above. Definitely wear sneakers otherwise you'll get blisters on your toes.
