I have got to find a program for strength training. I have lost a bunch of weight with cardio and hiit and now i have to tone up and lose some more (a bunch more actually,) and have ab stuff, and legg stuff but, need to tone and firm up my arms. They are just jigglerific. yuk.
I don't want to make the investment but, I need some weights or something. I like routine and have to be strict about it. I just am not sure what would be a better way to go. Should I get myself a set of kettlebells or a set of dumbells? What would be more effective and more versatile?

Thanks for all your help guys!!!!!!!

You really can't go wrong with either. Dumbbells are great and inexpensive, and you can do a wide variety of exercises with them. Kettleballs seem to be a bit more expensive, but are supposed to work more muscles and burn more calories because they engage more of your muscles, due to their unique shape. If you are new to strength training, I would probably recommend the dumbbells at first, and then go for the kettleballs after your body has gotten used to it. Either way, both can benefit you greatly.

If I had to choose, I"d say dumbells, they are cheaper. I"ve done a lot of research on KBs and the common "thoughts" are that one should work with a KB expert for proper form as kettlebell training is very different from DB. Of course good form is criticial with any exercise programs as we all know.

Some good websites to visit for exercise DVDs

if you get dumbbells dont get ones with cement in because i broke those easily (cheapest)
Kettlebell is a whole body workout (my arm, legs and lower back sore a bit)
And burning over 1000kcal in hour it is worth it. I do 200
Swings or turkish sit-ups per day but should do half an hour really...
