Returning to MFP, hopefully this time for good!

Hi everyone! I'm returning to MFP to get myself back on track. I have a little over 100 lbs to lose, and it's pretty difficult for me due to trouble with exercise. So I'm going to track EVERYTHING and use it to make better decisions. I have a rare neurological condition called transverse myelitis, which is basically inflammation and lesions on the spinal cord. It's kind of like MS, for those of you familiar with that horrid disease. I had my TM episode a little over four years ago and couldn't walk more than 25 feet at a time afterwards, but I was still really lucky that I could walk at all. Many people are permanently paralyzed from the condition. TM has been an excuse for me to eat stupid crap and feel sorry for myself. I can walk again now, although it is often very uncomfortable, so I'm done with excuses. I'm determined to get better and to start losing weight, as that will make my condition better as well. Inflammation is my nemesis, so I started South Beach Phase I on Tuesday. So far, so good... the water weight is shedding pretty quickly. Next it will be the fat! If anyone has mobility issues, a lot of weight to lose, or just wants other people to root for them, please feel free to friend me. - Deb
