Dark Cocoa Powder: health benefits?

Does anyone know if there are any real benefits to eating dark **cocoa powder** (not dark chocolate) on a daily basis?

I've been eating it--mixing it into my smoothies, or into plain oatmeal with a banana--to try to curb my cravings for actual dark chocolate (and all the Calories and fat it brings along with its velvety deliciousness lol!...), but I didn't think until just now that dark chocolate has health benefits.

Does it work the same way with cocoa POWDER, or does it have to be combined with something else like cocoa butter in order to be "chemically active"??

Eating a small bit of dark chocolate is fine. Work it into your calories

Cocoa powder doesn't do it for me, but high cocoa dark chocolate does, and I usually have two squares a day. I find it a great way to curb my appetite if I need to, as after a few mins, I'm simply not hungry. I've read up on the benefits before, but seem to have forgotten them now, lol.

You shouldn't need to mix it with anything I imagine, but if you really want the best benefits, why not consider some organic cacao, which is probably the best of all :)
