I just purchased my Fitbit Zip today and have a few questions if anyone could please answer them for me. I. I walked on the treadmill for 44 minutes and the Fitbit shows I walked 4,920 steps, 2.08 miles and burned 1,144 calories. When I first set
the Fitbit up it automatically showed I had burned 726 calories before I did anything. Why? 2. How do I sync it to Myfitnesspal?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure why your Fitbit had you burning calories before your workout.

To add the fitbit to this site, go to the apps tab above and select fitbit.

It includes the calories you burn throughout the day at rest, not just exercise.

Because you also burn calories while you are sleeping and doing nothing.

    This^

A FitBit helps you determine calories 24/7.

Here's a link to the FitBit users group....lots of info there: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/1290-fitbit-users

If you think about it even if you stayed in bed all day you would still need to eat. Your fitbit uses your details to calculate your resting calorie needs as well as adding in your exercise. Their website is a good place to go for help or if you read through the forums on here it will help you acclimatise.
