I'm a cancer survivor, it looks like I've beaten a very very bad malignant melanoma, I'm very thankful for that, like I cannot express how thankful

The cancer fight and the two operations put me off my game with the exercising but not with the nutrition, now more than ever I really do care about what I put in my body

If you have a moment, please watch this video..........

...... it is from the liveSTRONG.org people and even if you are NOT a cancer survivor, I think the message is one we all need to hear.

Not trying to preach here, I just think that as we are here at MFP not to "Diet" but to change our eating habits and our lifestyles, what we put into our bodies and how we use our bodies daily is something to think about.

Thanks to all my MFP friends who have been there all along with me while I've dealt with the cancer, I got very, VERY lucky, if I had not noticed the expanding spot on my back for another six months, it would have almost certainly killed me, it was that bad and growing that fast.

Eat food, not a lot, mostly plants, and get out there and MOVE

I don't even need to read your post. I bow my head in respect specifically on your title.

    Agree with what he said.
But it's so nice to hear that you've survived such a terrible thing. My friend's fiance in his mid 20's died of cancer this time last week :(

It was my bout with cancer all of last year that truly pushed me into sanity - Here I am, a survivor and I honestly felt that I HAD to get my eating *kitten* together - how irresponsible it would to waste the gift of health that I had been given. Congratulations to you for beating Mr. C and continued good health to us all!!!

I love reading positive posts as soon as I log into the forums.
    What an uplifting story.
  • I appreciate you and this message so much. First of all respect to you and Blessings. You are so right, lately I have been feeling like so grateful for having the ability to have legs that work, and if I have legs that work why sit on my behind not being grateful for them. I know people right now who wish they weren't having to walk without the aid of something helping them, so they can be active enough to lose weight. Thank you for posting this and again Blessings to you. I have been an advocate and supporter for women's cancers for 10 years now and i'm giving you the biggest high five for fighting through and being able to say "i'm a cancer survivor" . xoxoxo

Keep on going! It's good to get the message out that nutrtion and exercise DEEPLY impacts what happens inside our bodies. I always tell people about the book "Anticancer" and there is also another very interesting documentary called "FoodMatters". I think America needs to be informed and we need to be making the right decisions because a lot of diseases and conditions can be prevented by the way we live.

Thanks for posting, Stu. I hope to say the same thing -- that I'm a survivor. I'm still fighting the fight. But with a healthy lifestyle I know I can beat this.

:flowerforyou: A cancer report is something that makes you do a doublecheck on your priorities....I am a 6 year survivor of malignant melanoma. My sis is a breast cancer survivor. We both know what is really important now....family, friends, health and our eternity. I used to take my good health for granted....no more! God bless you and here is to your continued good health! :drinker:
