How do you log things you don't know the calories?

We had chinese tonight for dinner. It was from a little mom and pop chinese place. So how would I log that? I did add it to my log based on what was in the data base but of course it's just an estimate and I don't know if it's even close to what it actually is.
I hope that makes sense..

I usually try to find a chain restaurant with similar food and log it as that. It is usually close enough. You can eyeball certain foods like a cup of rice but for most combination dishes, that is the easiest option.0

I try to find recipes online and find one or two that look pretty close and use that. When you enter the recipe over estimate. Better to be entering in more calories than less.0

I do the same. It usually isn't too difficult to find a chain restaurant that has a similar dish. It will only be an estimate, but better than nothing!!!0 -
I do the same. I also remember that it is one day and being off on calories for a day will not make much of a difference.0
