Hi ![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Should you always eat preworkout meal and post? As I drank I usually drink just pre workout. A few times when I have been in the gym I feel like I'm going to pass out and feel really shaky and faint. Then when I finish my workout I feel like I'm not hungry at all and couldn't really eat anything. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance

If you are shaky and feeling like you're going to faint during exercise, you should eat something before working out. And probably after too as exercise lowers blood sugar.0

I do usually drink a protein shake but is this not enough? Maybe a quest bar?0

Before exercise you should eat something higher in carbs like a piece of toast with peanut butter and banana slices or a bowl of oatmeal with fresh fruit. After exercise, drink the protein shake or eat a Quest bar.0 -
Try eating a banana. Protein shakes are good for muscle building, but you need energy to workout which will come from some carbs or fat. If you're going low carb, add some coconut oil to your shake. Protein can be converted for energy usage, but your body will prefer carbs first, fat second, and protein last.0

protein shakes are not only good for muscle building, they are good for muscle recovery as well. i load up my protein shake with more than just powder and water. i do a scoop of chocolate protein powder, uncooked oats, 8 ounces of vanilla almond milk, two tablespoons of peanut butter, and a banana. i bet you won't be hungry after all of that!!0
