Why can't I still do one single push up?
Been practising doing push ups off a table but still can't do one push up? Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

Keep practicing. Get your reps up on the table, then find a lower platform, get your reps up again, then find a lower platform and repeat until you're doing reps from the floor0

you have to progessively overload the muscle which means that once you can do the push ups off a table then next workout move to something lower. when you can do that (notice i didnt say when it becomes easy) then move lower. if you consistently do that then you will be able to do military style0

In addition to using various inclinations you could also try doing negatives. Basically get into top push-up position: Hands directly under shoulders, core, and glutes tight then slowly lower yourself to the floor then go into child's pose (google it) then repeat for reps. Good luck!0

I was able to do them after starting with negative push-ups, just the eccentric part of the motion. So starting in a plank, lower yourself slowly to the floor in a reverse pushup. Do this up to 10 times a day for a couple of weeks and you'll start to be able to push back up and do an actual push-up. Then you can work on doing more.0
