If you scroll down it's Erica Durance that's the kind of body that i want, i'm currently doing the couch25k program which is three days a week which after 9 weeks gets you to be able to run for 30 mins straight. I'm thinking of making this my schedule -
Monday
Couch25k program 30 mins (burning about 270 calories at the moment)
Tuesday
Body Combat class (fighting class; burn about 670 calories)
Pilates class (I think it's about 270-300 calories)
Wednesday
Couch25k program 30 mins
Yoga class (about 270 calories)
Thursday
Body Attack class (about 670 calories)
Body balance(contains yoga, tai chi and pilates and is about 270 calories)
Friday
Couch25k 30 mins
would this get me that body??? I'm about 5'11 and 90kg's so i want to lose about 25kg's.
Helphelphelp. Thanks!!
Would it be better to simply do the running couch25k program three days a week and this circuit training three days a week http://www.self.com/fitness/workouts/2006/10/work-out-while-watching-tv-slideshow#slide=1 ??

The workout plan you described and the links involved won't make you look like Erica Durance unless you cover all the infinate variables as well.
How are your eating habits? Do you have a healthy eating plan? What's your plan for Saturday and Sunday? How many meals a day are you eating? Do you have a Large, medium or small build?
Most workouts found on-line or in celebrity magazines will contradict one or another from week to week, month to month. This is a main reason why people don't have success since they can never find something they can stick with.
Rather than an overly ambitious program...what kind of things do you actually enjoy doing? Do you have any activities and hobbies you currently enjoy? sports you used to play at one time or another?
The key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a long-term change based on things you enjoy and can easily commit to, thus doing what it takes to live the life you want to life.
Remember it's all about you...not about trying to be someone else. :-)
That being said...you can't change how you're genetically built to get a certain body shape based on a celebrity profile. What you can do, it make healthy choices to have the best physique for You, based on a proper nutritoin and a regular exercise program.0 -
You can't just pick body and say that's what you want. You will inevitably be disappointed. You can only be the best you can be. Incorporate your C25K and do some lifting, work hard, eat right and you will reach your goals.0
-
Wow. Where to start with this.
First of all, the kind of body you can achieve depends a lot on your genetic makeup. For example, I have always had thick, muscular thighs. No workout in the world will ever give me long, lean legs. Ever. Never. It won't happen. In a million years. That's just not the genes I got dealt.
Second, I don't think she looks that fit. I think she looks underweight. I don't see a lot of muscle on her at all. She just looks like she starves herself.0 -
Nothing wrong with using her as motivation, but she is crazy skinny. Most people can't maintain that type of body. It's just not healthy. As you start to lose weight, you'll start to see how your body changes, and start to be able to visualize what it will look like when you really get as skinny as you want to be. That idea of what you can become is a much healthier goal, as we are all so different.
Hell, maybe you'll look just like her, but start by losing weight and not killing yourself.
You do have a lot of cardio in there, and it looks to be intense cardio at that. I'd recommend your second idea, doing the c25k with circuit training on the other days. You can always add more if you feel up to it. If you get overtrained and/or injure something, it could be a huge setback and motivation killer.0 -
Sure you can. Got Photoshop?
Like someone said...use her as inspiration. Also remember those models are heavily touched up.0 -
I think it's GREAT that you have someone you can look at as your goal image. There is NOTHING wrong with that. I am not going to tell you "well you know it all depends on you, your genetics, your build, your frame, how you eat" - DUH. You're not stupid. You know those things. Having something before you, a goal, a body/face to match up with the idea you have in your head it great and wonderfully motivating. OBVIOUSLY it's motivating because look at you, you've planned out a whole week of kick-butt exercise to get you up off the couch and moving - that is great!! Would you have done that if you didn't have a goal?? Probably not.
Do NOT let anyone discourage you. Keep a level head and an open mind- know that the closer you get to your goal your goal may change. You may decide you don't want to lose as much or that you need to lose more. As long as you are doing it with diet and exercise I say BRAVO!!! GREAT JOB!!! KEEP IT UP!!!
My goal gal is Marisa Miller, she is a Victoria Secrets model. Yes, she is too skinny, and no I don't want to be as thin as her. BUT she looks great and I find that looking at her picture is far more motivating then taping an obese person's photo to my fridge (as some people recommend) it just makes me sad. You have to do what's right for you and what motivates YOU.
BEST OF LUCK, STAY FOCUSED, YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN GET AS CLOSE TO THAT GOAL AS GENETICS WILL ALLOW!!!!
GO FOR IT!0 -
She has an awesome body. I don't think she's too skinny. Personally, I've always thought she looked kinda fit. I'm a Smallville fan so I know who she is & have noticed how fit she was before.
Anyway, I agree that some of it is genetics - but I believe that most of it is what you put in your body & what exercise you choose to do. If you put your mind to it & keep at it, you will eventually become YOUR version of her body (hope that makes sense)!0 -
I concur with binary_jester. Her torso looks...strange, like they screwed up something in photoshop. With that being said, it's good to have goals. Good luck and let us know how the C25K works for you.0

I don't recall myself or anyone else calling the OP stupid or trying to discourage her. How she'll get discouraged is if she wants a specific body and doesn't have the genetic makeup to get there. You're right that inspiration is great. I have people that inspire me, too. Not just in fitness but in other areas of life. But I don't look at a picture or something they've done and say "I want to be that person". I'll never be. I'm me. But I can be the best version of me I can be.
And honestly, I don't know where you're drawing your inspiration from, but I just had a look at your diary and what you're doing is NOT healthy. Eating below 1000 calories a day (for most people) will put you into ketosis. Yes, there are diets where that's the goal, but they're done under STRICT medical supervision because it's very dangerous. What you're eating has no nutritional value to speak of most days, and eating 500-800 calories per day at any height and weight is a very, VERY risky thing to do. Are you under the care of a doctor who is guiding your diet?0 -
i had this notebook where i put my measurements, weight, exercise etc and then for motivation i printed lindsay lohans pic and 'awesome job' floating hearts etc then one day...found out she was gaY. My lil sister found it and asked what it was and i said secret and now who knows what she thinks (gay or crazy)... Once i opened the fridge and she asked am i crazy so go figure.0

Oh my god! I just had a look at it too. How are you even standing? There are days where you've consumed under 900 calories and burned 600 with exercise. That leaves your body 300 calories to SURVIVE. 300 calories a day is starvation. And not starvation "mode". Actual, you-are-going-to-die-painfully-and-slowly starvation.
Get yourself under control before you start doling out advice.0 -

Agree 100%
Yesterday (Saturday) she had a net of just under 300. WTF?!?!? I wouldn't have the energy to get out of bed...
And she's an EMT therefore other people's lives are in her hands. I wouldn't want someone about to collapse from starvation showing up to help me if I had to call 911.
She may be needing her coworkers to load her into the back of her own rig.0 -
Boy oh boy people are soooooo discouraging on the boards!!!! Honey you can do anything you put your mind too, you may not end up with the same exact body but you can come close and im sure you will be happy with the results!!!! We all need someone to use as a role model and there is nothing wrong with the one you picked out!!! You really need to find you a group of encouraging people on this site, I did and they have made all the difference in how far i have come!!! :flowerforyou:0

wow people! It's posts like this that keep my diary closed. I think we can look at someone's food diary and offer constructive help but I'm not sure there's a need to be mean about it. In fact I don't think it was even ask to offer the other poster suggestions, did I miss her asking?:frown:
I was going to open my diary but now remember why I like to keep it private..especially now being at goal weight and planning on changing things up. So private it stays:drinker: :glasses:
JoleanRook - never have seen this before: Hagen-Dazs - Green Tea Ice Cream, 0.05 cup I'll have to look for it next time I'm in the store...sound interesting! I also admire anyone that can eat 1/4 c. of mac and cheese. OMG..amazing:drinker:0 -

You can make your diary public to friends only or use a code to lock it and only give that code to people you trust!!! I make mine open to friends because i have some of the best that are on this site!!!!0 -

I have a photo I keep for inspiration as I'm working on doing some toning, sure it's probably a fixed photo but I still like certain features and continue to use it to motivate me. Will I ever look exactly like her? Heck no, nor do I want too, except her butt. I'd take that
Good luck with your workouts in whatever you decide for you is a better fit. A lot of folks have success with CK25 and perhaps adding in some of the other parts you shared would be a nice combo?0 -

I didn't intend to be mean, but part of support is concern about unhealthy habits. There is NO WAY you can be healthy with 300 calories a day net. No way. I don't care what anyone says.
And the diets that are specially designed to induce ketosis are nutritionally balanced, and, like I said, done under strict medical supervision: blood work and vitals taken regularly. AND those diets keep the dieter around 900-1000 calories a day, NOT 300-500.
No, she didn't ask a question, but when someone is unsupportive (as I feel she was to the OP, basically telling her she can do anything she puts her mind to, even if that's rearranging her genetics and bone/muscle structure, thereby setting her up for disappointment), I'm curious as to who that person is and the POV they're speaking from. So I went and looked at the diary this person chooses to make public. Others, like you, can choose to make it private or locked. When I saw that, alarm bells went off because, quite simply, if this individual goes on like this, they are going to do their health some serious harm, and might "inspire" others to do so as well.0
