New here. My wife, I_wanna_b_an_RN, just showed me around this site. I'm skeptical and a bit almost reluctant to change, out of fear that it won't work. Need some support. Thanks

Is it working for your wife? If so...just follow her lead Also, read thru the "success stories" folder on the message boards, be esp sure to check out the ones with before and after pics. Very inspiring. Good luck if you decide to embark on the weight loss journey.0 -

Your wife did you a huge favor by showing you this site. It doesn't tell you what types of food to eat (you already know what's healthy and what's not) or how much to exercise. There are plenty of other websites that will offer advice for that.... but it is more like a diary. Before you know it, you'll notice patterns in your eating and exercise habits and where to make subtle changes accordingly.

It works- just put in a little time (30 min) each day to get in some kind of exercise and learn to budget your cals-

Here is my best and most honest advice: it is a learning process that takes time. Allow yourself time to make changes and figure out what works for you. Allow yourself opportunities to make mistakes. Don't let the mistakes discourage you! It is a chance to learn and tracking with MFP is all about making you aware. Second: I read "success stories" each day. It encourages me to continue for just 1 more day... those days have added up to 4 months later and 42 non-baby pounds lost! You CAN do it. We all fall down. When that happens, get back up, come for support, and keep on tracking!0
