Feeling too full and stuffed

So from my experience I know the foods and the things that make me feel full
1. Food that "looks" big, even if it does not weigh as much (example: popcorn)
2. Food that weighs a lot
3. Certain kinds of food which (for the purpose of this thread) include oats, milk, tomatoes,garlic and eggs
4. Fiber
So I was bored and decided to do a test. What if I combine all elements with multiple foods that are satiating to me? Is the result cumulative or would I be feeling full for the usual 4 hours before feeling hungry again?
So I had an egg-oat scramble, a cup of milk and tomatoes. The meal looked like this:
-1/2 a small onion caramelized in 1/2 tablespoon of oil (love caramelized onion over my scrambled eggs)
- 2 egg whites + 1 whole egg (I have a mild egg white allergy with the side effect of feeling full)
- 30 grams of spinach (for the color)
- 30 grams (about 1/3 cup) of quaker rolled oats (stays long in my stomach)
- 1 clove of garlic (the taste of garlic lingers tricking me into feeling like I just ate)
- A splash of milk for the scramble (my milk is protein and calcium fortified)
- A piece of flatbread the size of about 2 palms (scrambled eggs without bread is like a pizza without toppings to me)
- 1/2 a tomato into the scramble and a 1 1/2 roughly diced on the side
- 1 cup of milk (the creaminess makes me feel full)
Total calories: 507
Total weight: 8xx g (just shy of 2 pounds)
Total protein: 36 g
Total fiber: 9 g
Here are my observations:
11 am: I had this for breakfast. I felt LITERALLY STUFFED.. I mean I just ingested 2 pounds of food!
3 pm: The 4 hour original window passed AND I WAS STILL FEELING STUFFED. I literally cannot not put anything in my mouth. Light stomach cramps for 20 minutes because of egg allergy.
6 pm: The stuffed feeling is slowly subsiding. I could have something now but really, not hungry at all. Had a small cucumber, couldn't have anything else.
7 pm (now): Still full. Not sure when I'll get hungry again, but I could probably eat a small snack.. I don't feel like it though. My inner grazer is poking at me and complaining. I feel like putting something in my mouth out of habit, but the thought of having more stuff in my stomach is not very appealing. I will wait it out and see when I will actually get hungry again.
I will keep you updated if you're interested!
Result: it is cumulative for me. This should be a great tool to help restrict day calories on days when I know I will have a pretty calorie-rich evening with friends.
Downside: I was so full, I could not bring myself to exercise. If I do this again I will exercise before eating.

Because I like them
I'm cleared to have them since my allergic response is very mild. Just a bit of discomfort in my stomach for less than 30 minutes which does not bother me much.
Like I said it was a personal test, and I thought the results were interesting enough to share!0 -
Update:
8:30 pm and I'm not full anymore, but still not hungry. Perfect timing, I usually go out with friends around this time.0 -
Within the past week, I read an article on CNN regarding eating 6 small meals a day versus 2 larger meals. Their study showed eating 2 larger meals with that intermittent fasting period naturally inbetween resulted in better weight loss. I thought it interesting.0

Forgot to update. Hunger set in at about 9:30 which is perfect.
In the past I used to nibble 500 calories throughout the day 100 calories at a time on days I knew I was going out for a calorie rich evening. I felt hungry all day and pigged out during the evening. This will be my new way of planning. I would recommend it to anyone. Find the elements that tend to make you and keep you full, combine them eat it at around the middle of the day in a big meal, and you may have the same results as me without having to deal with hunger till evening.0 -
Honestly most days I would eat that and still be hungry 4 hours later, depending on hormones and stuff. Glad it worked for you though.0
