Hi all,

I changed my diet and started exercising one month ago today and to my shock I actually lost some weight! I have tried to lose weight in the past and failed every time without losing a single pound but this time is different as I lost 6lbs and several inches across my whole body.

I have abused and neglected my body for over 10 years, and as a result I suffer with awful back pain and that was my main motivation for losing the blubber, it would be so nice not having intense pain just from doing simple things.

I am a very fussy eater so dieting was always going to be a problem for me, however I made lots of little changes (full fat products > low fat products, white bread > wholemeal bread etc). And obviously I cut out all junk food like soda, sweets, chocolate and crisps. My biggest food love is pizza and I knew I'd never give it up so I have started making my own from scratch, I keep it simple with just homemade sauce, cheese, herbs and fresh tomato slices, each pizza is around 500 calories which is less than half the calories of the supermarket pizzas I was eating before, I know it's not perfect but I knew I'd never stick to a diet that removed absolutely everything, and pizza was the one thing I wanted to keep. In general I have massively reduced my portions as well, I didn't realize how much I was overeating until now.

Up until a month ago I basically sat or laid down all day, I did zero exercise and I was in awful shape. I decided to start doing "10 Minute Trainer" as I felt even I could do 10 minutes and I was right, at first it was extremely hard and after the 10 minutes I couldn't breath but as of today I have stepped it up and I'm now doing 20 minutes per day, my goal is to work up to the full 30 minutes next month.

Any way I've rambled on for long enough, but I'm happy and for the first time in my life it feels like I might actually be able to do it.
