Brand new and trying this the right way

Hey all,

I am a 37 year old mother of 3, wife, student and frustrated momma. I had been on anti depressants for years which also acted as appetite suppressants. Unfortunately I ended up with a heart scare which I have been cleared from. I've decided not to go back on and gained 10 pounds in a month and a half. I'd love to be part of a supportive group so I can do this the right way. I need to lose around 60 pounds. I used fitness pal before but I'd love some encouragement and motivation. Is there any groups that support each other daily through being friends on the mobile app? I'd love advice and encouragement from some of you that have been in my shoes.

Thanks

Jen

Welcome. Long term weight loss is just calories in versus calories out. No gimmicks, no weird diets, it simply means eat less, move more.

You can do this, just be faithful at logging in everything you eat and drink during the day. Since you have 3 kids, I would recommend that you invest in a Fitbit or other device that tracks your steps daily. Kids require lots of steps.

    Anyway good luck to you.

Great job taking the first step! I'd search groups for what you are looking for. Feel free to add me if you like. Just make small, manageable choices everyday and soon the little choices will add up to big changes. I also recommend logging everything, even if it's bad, even if you are approximating your portions, it will help you to see where your calories are coming from. It helps me to see what I am eating everyday. You can do this! Stay positive! One step at a time.
