Beet juice for Blood Pressure

Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone here takes or taken beet Juice to lower their blood pressure. Been reading 1 to 2 cups a day will lower it. I am currently taking Norvasc 5 mg but wanted to lower it naturally, although the medical community believes I will have to take it the rest of my life.
I started yesterday and juiced a cup along with celery and spinach. My nighttime BP decreased from an average of 128/89 to a low of 107/71. I cut Norvasc to 3.5 mgs today and plan to maintain that dosage for about 2 weeks while juicing.

Anyone else ever tried beet juice to lower bp?

It can but the effect is very short lived ( like a couple of hours max)

Hmm..I read its supposed to be affective for 24 hours. A glass lowered my pressure for about 6 hours last night. But I cant seem to duplicate yesterday's reading. How much were you taking?

I don't know about the beet juice but I can tell you I was on bp med for a year due to a systolic number over 200. In january I stopped smoking, began exercising and lost weight. Haven't taken a pill since april. It isn't that way for everybody but I'm only in my 30's and refuse to be on meds! lol good luck

Wow congrats. Yeah meds suck! lol.
I lost 30 lbs, stopped drinking and smoking and didn't see enough of an improvement to stop meds. Not going to give up though.

I juiced beets each morning when I was pregnant and my blood pressure lowered from 125/85 - 117/74. I missed a couple days and it went back to high 120's/high 80's. I took my BP 3 times/day during pregnancy and it was always a great reading. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone but it worked for me. I don't need to take it for BP anymore because now it's average of 118/76 but I eat them once in awhile because I like the taste.
