A better introduction

Hi All:
I just thought I would take a moment and introduce myself a bit better.
I am 38 years old. Last year I went back to work full time after being a stay at home mom for 8 years. I so loved those years with my 2 kids (ages 7 & 8), I played with them and walked with friends who had kids the same age.
I work as a secreatry in my kids school and I sit all day long! That has been awful on my weight and I gained 20 pounds in that year, even though my food intake did not go up. I have changed my eating habits but the weight is not coming off
This summer we joined a club and I have started to work out and have been feeling SO MUCH BETTER but have not lost any weight. I fear that I have cut my calories so much that I have put my body into starvation mode. I figured I had only been eating 700-900 calories a day, even on workout days.
I need to learn how to eat more healthy foods to bump up my calorie count.
I would love to do a sprint Triathlon but the swimming part is scary - I often think my best strategy would be to wait for everyone else to get started and then I can go in
I enjoy downhill skiing, cross country skiing, biking, motorcycles (HD sportster 1200 custom), sitting in the sun, reading, (current book: We the Living, by Ayn Rand), knitting socks (I don;t know how to knit anything else), scrapbooking, and of course spening time with my family! WOW after looking at all those activities, it is no wonder I don't keep my house spic and span clean! LOL.
Looking forward to meeting my goal with all of you!

Nice to meet you. What are your goals for weightloss and fitness? You have very active hobbies. I would try exploring those as fitness options before hitting the gym! Sounds like more fun to me lol Welcome!0

Hi there! Welcome! I'm also 38 and have 2 children 9 and 5. I also love to read. I'm currently reading some Lisa Gardner novels. I like to scrapbook but between my full time job as a registered E.C.E. and my other full time job as a mother, I just don't have the time right now.
Goodluck on your journey.:flowerforyou:

Nice to meet you! My fitness goals and weightloss - I would like to go back to my pre-baby weight which was 112lbs. I felt great then and I was very please with how I looked. The weight number is just a number, if I achieve a well toned body that will fit back into my clothes then I will consider myself successful, even if that means the scale is not at 112.
As for fitness - I really want to be fit. I do a mix of cardio and strength.0 -
I need to set my mindset to that same standard of success. I often say things like that but become discouraged if the scale doesnt move. Good luck.
I have read that the mix of cardio and strength training are what works best, so you are on the right track.0 -
welcome there are lots of great people here who provide wonderful support !0
