I have posted many times seeking advice regarding binge eating.

I apologise, again, that I'm asking for advice. Tracking my binge eating, it seems I have no desire to binge eat at the end of my period, and the week following. Two/three weeks (I'm irregular) prior to it and the first few days after my period has started I have been having binge eating cravings.

Has anyone found anything that helps pmt cravings?

I have already tried evening primrose, b6, b12 sigh...

Thank you everyone.

just have discipline and not eat. Or you can try something like brush your teeth if you are feeling that you want to binge eat. Or try to eat more filling foods over the day. Or you can always try IF it will be hard the first week, but after that you don't feel any hunger.

I don't think you should have to apologise for posting again, seeing that you're asking a different question!

I think that there are lots of different solutions to this. For me, I would accept the desire to pig out and earn every extra calorie through exercise, as that's what works for me in terms of motivation.

First thing that comes to mind: Make sure you're getting all your vitamins. Best to get what you can from food, but if you can't do that, there's no shame in a decent quality multivitamin. Check iron in particular, but you really should be close to meeting RDA on all of them. You can plug your typical food for a day into the free version of cronometer for a one page quick layout of vitamins and minerals.

Second thought was to look at your profile. Is it true you only have four pounds to go? Are you sure you're not underweight and that the four pounds won't put you underweight? Even if not, your body may fight hard to keep those pounds at specific times during your cycle. Women are supposed to have extra fat to get pregnant and carry the baby through times of famine. Fortunately we have spent our lives famine-free, but our bodies don't know that, especially if we've been making them lose weight.

Also, has your period always been irregular, or only when you reached a lower body weight? If the latter it means you might be underweight and/or under eating. Either way it means it's time for a doctor's visit. In fact, if you've never discussed being irregular with a physician before you should.

Another thought: Are any of the following very low: Fat or protein? Both are required for healthy function, you might crave one or both more at different times in your cycle or just feel hungrier for lack of them. I seem to remember months on low carb when I also craved and was hungrier as well.

    Hi,

Just quickly, I apologise I have 14 lbs to go (well to get back to what I used to be prior to having a baby some three years ago). I am 5ft 6 and 10.6 stone - it doesn't sound too bad but my body fat is 32 percent, just to give some relativity to it.

Pps Interesting too- I am mildly anaemic,
So the doctor keeps telling me. I don't really know how that would be affecting my carb cravings though- through tiredness? I am only mildly anaemic.

Pps thank you for your posts!

Iron. And isn't bread often fortified with some iron?

Log1e thanks for your acceptance of my relentless questions :-) I used to run when I had monthly blues- but my knees don't hold out these days - I think I was a bit gung-ho about it, ie feel rubbish, put trainers on and run. Now my knees ache after walking ! Swimming seems much more of an effort but maybe the way to go. My mum has been Nordic walking twice a week, 2x 7 mile walks and has lost loads of weight!
