Fit bit help

I have just got a new fit bit and remember with my old one I had to calibrate it some how because it was saying ten steps when I was actually only doing 6
If I am going to use it I want it to be as accurate as possible otherwise I will think I am doing really well when actually I am not!
But I can't remember where I found out what I had to do, can anyone remember if they had to do it with theirs?

There is no calibration. Is it a Flex, and you set it for dominant or non wrist? Or are you thinking of manually inputting a stride length to improve distance estimates?

    It's the fit bit one
Yes it was something to do with stride as although I am tall I have a short stride - I would take 6 steps and it would say I had done 10

Hm, steps count has nothing to do with stride length.

Do this-- Walk 100 steps with your One worn correctly (on torso) and check how many steps it advanced/counted. If it's not between 95-105, they'll consider it defective and exchange it, I think.

The # of steps should be fairly accurate but sounds like you want to adjust your stride length - thru the Fitbit website. (I don't think you can do it on the mobile app.)

Keep in mind, the distance element is just an estimate. You can set a stride length for running and walking - and I assume Fitbit guesses which to use based on your pace/speed. But its still an estimate because the strides you take when walking/running for fitness is going to be different than the stride length for running errands, ambling around the house.
