Sure, why not? Unless you get gassy or it gives you a stomach ache, eat whenever you feel best.

Nothing wrong with that at all.
Very healthy choices. Protein, fat, carbs, fibre and lots of nutrients in those choices.

Be careful combining fruit with proteins because fruit digests much quicker through your system. So especially before bed I would pick one or the other, depending on what you need out of your diet from the day.

WTF?? No. Who cares how fast something digests? Just eat what you want to. Nothing wrong with eggs and fruit together.

Why not? As long as you stay within the MFP daily calorie goal, you can eat eggs and bananas anytime you want too.

Food combinations are important for digestion. Your body intakes less calories from food if it digests quicker and more efficiently through the system. Fruit combined with foods that have different digestive paces ferments in your stomach, which can cause gas and bloating.

I really just eat the banana to make sure my body dosent break the proteins down to glucose.. Want to make sure the proteins goes to building muscles. and not to fuel my body

Don't make it so complicated IMO. As long as it fits within your calorie/macro goals go for it. Protein or whatever extra calories will eat will only go toward building muscles rather than fueling your body if you are eating more than you burned.

I would personally choose a different combination of food that gives you a complete protein, but that's just my advice, I'm not an expert :)

As long as you're not going over your calories, and it doesn't upset your stomach to eat it, go for it.

My complete protein before bed last night was a pint of Talenti. Care to indulge me with your thoughts?

Sorry eggs are complete protein I just meant another food combination for what you're trying to achieve. @bombshell that's great, but irrelevant to what we're talking about - combining an egg with a banana

You're being unnecessarily rude. I'm not saying that my opinion is ultimately right. He asked a question and I'm giving my opinion based off what I've read in nutrition books and what I believe based off that.

Not being rude. Making a point. How my food digests in me is nice and all but unless I'm getting a stomach ache from it, it's irrelevant.

Someone made a chart providing no studies to back up their claim.

    Sounds legit.

They are just pointing out that your claim has no scientific backing and, that by repeating that sort of junk, you are doing a disservice to people who may actually believe such a claim.

What utter nonsense. " ferments in your stomach"--bah. That is not how digestion works. I eat a wide variety of foods at the same meal, various combinations, meat, potatoes, fruits, and I've very seldom ( almost never) had gas and I've never had bloating. The other day I had a rare t-bone steak followed by a pint of fresh black cherries, with absolutely no ill effects.

If anyone eats a balanced meal, they do combine proteins with fruits and veggies. My favorite snack is banana and peanut butter. When you eat your meals, do you eat only protein at one, fruit at another??

There is some medical backing to the claim that eating certain foods together can enhance or hinder the absorption of certain micronutrients (dairy hindering the absorption of iron and vitamin D enhancing the absorption of calcium are the best known ones). Other than that, there is no reason to not eat foods together.

If it fits your macros. go ahead. I eat two hard cooked eggs and either some cheese or some almonds as my bedtime snack quite often.
