In the past 19 weeks I have lost 23 lbs. and will reach my goal in 5. - 10 more. I am very pleased with that, (besides the loss, I have also done better with my confidence and acute depression.
I do not know how but I don't seem to be loosing very little in inches. I was kinda thought I read some where that the inches show up first, any advice?
I still have not got myself to do the weight training, which I am sure will be the answer for my next question....
When I started I had an extra ring of fat under my stomach. I have lost weight there, but have left behind the jiggly skin. I think I have asked this much earlier on, and replies were that it will go away with time and more loss...that hasn't happened, and it's downright ugly, thank goodness that it doesn't show thru my clothes, as it used to, always wore larger shirts to hide.
Is it because I haven't lost enough weight yet, or due to the not lifting? I'll say it again and at this point of my journey it's embarrassing , but I don't have a single athletic bone in my body.

19 weeks is not a lot of time. I doubt you put on all of your weight in 19 weeks so you really need to give your body more time to recover. A lot more time. Great job losing 23 lbs in 19 weeks!
Lifting weights tightens up the body so you will lose inches. I wouldn't worry about being athletic just make sure you are lifting with proper form. Either speak to a personal trainer or check out New rules of lifting for Women, Stronglifts 5x5 or Strong Curves. If you are worried about starting strength training you may want to ease into it with some resistance exercise like an aqua class that is resistance or weight centered instead of cardio. Yoga or pilates are also good options.0 -
Mochapygmy hello
Thanks so much for the reply, I think I will try the weights starting mon. I have my three grands here until Sunday evening, so it would be kinda useless to try while they are here. Thanks for the suggestions as well. Believe it or not my son in law is a personal trainer, he does very well with that. So of course I throw every thought about weight loss and nutrition at him when I see him. He and my daughter don't like that I'm eating at 1,000 calories a day, so until I'm eating their way, I get no more advice. They will be here on Sunday, think will try to get his advice on form ect, just no talking about diet, so many people have so many different views on that, so I try not to allow it to be a topic I'm involved in.0
