Rice Serving Size

I got a bag of sushi rice today and it's 150 calories for 1/4 cup of rice. I'm wondering if that's meant to be measured before or after cooking?

it should say on the package.
it should also give you a gram measurement. Use that instead.

I don't have anything to weigh my food with so I rely on cup measurements. Also it doesn't say on the package, or I wouldn't be asking here!

Does Sushi rice have more calories than regular basmati/long grain rice? I use Veetee rice & it has about 180 calories per 140g, which I think is about 3/4 of a cup I think. 150 calories for 1/4 cup seems so high.

On your question though, get some scales man, they're so good for keeping things under control.

1 cup of cooked sushi rice (so 1/2 cup uncooked) is approx. 213 calories.

    Before Cooking.

The rice is measured raw: ¼ = 150 calories.
