I am on a calorie intake of 1200 or less. I want to drop weight in 5 weeks. Because after I quit smoking 7 months ago and I gained 10 kilo's. Who els is on a stricked calorie diet?? And I try to do the Intermitten fasting so I begin eating at noon.

A strict diet with a set deadline for completion is not the key to long term success. I would highly recommend reading this thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants0

hey! i am doing exactly what you doing. intermittent fasting and counting calories (1200) and its really working. only been doing it for 2 weeks and i have lost inches and my clothes feel much looser on me! Don't really focus on weighing myself because you can never really trust the scale but you can trust your clothes!I also only start eating at noon, after a week or so it becomes so easy to only start eating at noon. i just drink coffee during the morning. hope it all works out for you as well as it is for me! Oh and as for working out, i try do the jillian michaels 30 day shred most days and try run maybe 3 times a week for 30 minutes, or sometimes nothing just depends on the day!0

It's very likely you're not eating even close to enough food to fuel your body. You're setting yourself up to stall out.

This is a good calculator to use to estimate what your total calorie intake should be. Good luck!0 -
Hi Thanks for your reply. Im doing it now for 3 days and Im so hungry in the morning, But drinking lots of water helps I go to the gym 5 days a week mix off cardio (10 min HIIT) and than weightlifting.0

I know, sounds crazy right?!0

Depends on what those 1200 calories are. If you get 1200 calories of whole foods, you will be full if you are a small person.0

...I am a "Small person" and I get hangry if I eat 1200 calories, whole foods or otherwise. Especially if I work out as much as the OP.0 -
I did 1200 a day for two weeks, with supervision, at a spa. I was working out a lot and ravenous most of the time. It was ok to get me started but then I went back to more calories, keeping the exercising and just trying to have a 500 calorie daily deficiency. That was much easier and I lost the weight I wanted to plus. It would make me sad to have to restrict myself so much when food happens to be delicious.0

tea and coffee with some skim milk no sugar really works great for me during my fasting period. i have 2 cups every morning. if you enjoy tea or coffee that is.0

Make sure that the 1200 calories that you are taking in are all proactive ones. Load up on the low cal veggies that give you tons of vitamins and watch the breads. I work out 6 days a week, and it has taken a while, but I am finally getting my eating on track. You should never eat less than 1200, and you can add more with your exercise (you have to stay fueled or you will crash, and you body will shut down into starvation mode, which is counterproductive.)0

Third time's the charm. Plus, going wide open with diet and exercise makes people burn out. Be sure you are meeting your nutritional needs to fuel the training.0 -
I too quit smoking a year ago, and also going through menopause. I gained 15 pounds and was climbing. I had enough and decided to start excersing again. After about 4 weeks into it, I had not seen a difference. So, I joined MFP and started logging what I was eating. Little to my surprise I was eating wrong. So now, with both exercise and just watching portion control , I am seeing the weight slowly come off. I don't sweat going over my intake of 1200 because I found it hard to eat that much in a day, unless it was fast JUNK food. I hope this was helpful for you. I would love to watch your progress, add me if you like. You can also get some good ideas on what others eat, and how they exercise.. GOOD LUCK0

This!!! I'm a small person, too and 1200 calories doesn't cut it for me. Hangry doesn't cover it. Plus, I get to the point of feeling sick and tired. And do exercise at least 4 times a week... running, yoga, some other cardio. No way I'd make it on strict 1200 calories a day.0 -
1200 calories is breakfast:laugh: I would recommend not trying to lose that much weight so quickly. Would also recommend.
