Hey everyone,

I'm a nineteen year old Licensed Practical Nursing student, and I have gained twenty one pounds since last year!! It really concerns me w. my age and how fast its creeping up. I'm looking for a bit of hope and a nice push to get started. So far by glancing through the site I can already see its going to help.. My goodness I put in a danish I had from Tim Hortans for breakfast and it pretty much left me with nothing else I was a loud to eat for the day haha.. Any tips or healthy recipes I would absolutely appreciate Thanks Everyone and Good Luck in reaching what ever goal you have set for yourself.

Hello there!!! There are some really good recipes under the recipe section. Also, it is alot easier when you stick to whole foods or atleast foods that are not overly processed. Basic fruits, veggies, and lean meats. You can do this once you get a hang of what you like to eat and get a routine set for yourself.
  • Welcome aboard! Blessings with your weight loss goals! Hang in there and stay focused! I am new, just joined last week and my goal is to loose 40 lbs and to get off my high blood pressure medication. I have my good days and bad days. I am staying focused on walking daily. I am having a lot of pain on my right shin splint so I am walking several times a day at 5-10 minute intervals. I have greatly increased my daily water intake.

Greatly reducing your salt intake and increasing your water intake above all else will reduce your bld. pressure.. so keep it up I know you can do it:)

Isn't it funny how those pounds can creep up on you? They've been doing it slowly to me for the past five years until I had had enough.

If you're willing to lose the weight and get started toward a healthier life, you can do it! You just have to keep motivated, and remember during those times were it gets tough you always have a support network here that's willing to help you.

The hunger will pass with time. Eating a big good breakfast followed by smaller, and more frequent meals (but still mindful of your calorie goals) will also help keep the hunger at bay.
