Weight loss is a roller coaster

So I've been riding this roller coaster of weight loss for quite some time now but I officially started my journey about a week ago. In the past my motivation has strictly been aesthetics but as I get older I'm more interested in my health and wellness. So everything was going great, I was meeting my caloric/macronutrient intake and exercising regularly and lost 2 pounds in a week! I know that's not significant progress but I was excited and motivated! Until I had a wedding to attend this weekend. Not just any wedding, an Indian wedding, which meant 3 days of nothing but buttery, oily, sugary food. Trust me, there were no alternatives (and I wasn't complaining). The morning after the wedding I weighed myself and gained a total of 4 pounds. Ugh. Again, I know it's not something to sweat over but it really took the kick out of my motivation. I want to keep moving forward but it seems like every time I take one step, I'm going ten steps back. It's so frustrating.:explode: Giving up is in my genes but I refuse to throw in the towel this time. Is there anyone out there who struggles with fluctuating weight/motivation like me? Any words of wisdom?!:frown:

Absolutely! It seems if I falter in any way my body hangs onto everything it can. So very frustrating. I had been giving up time and time again and I decided I'm tired of giving up. The only time you fail is when you stop trying. So keep trying and don't let the roller coaster win. Eventually it will get easier and you will win the battle. Just ask yourself "am I willing to give in...again?" hopefully the answer is "no!"

Don't give up. Keep plugging along and eventually you will lose weight and find the motivation to eat less in social situations:smile: . There won't be a wedding every weekend of your life.

There's probably a lot of water weight in there too, so get back on track and I'm sure you'll find you haven't gained 4lbs at all :)

I've been yo-yoing myself and am now determined to lose again.

A three day wedding? One with lots of bread and buttery things? Wow!
