Polar HRM?

Hello,

I sometimes wear my Polar HRM for 24hours to see my calories burn't with sitting around not doing an awful lot, I burnt 3200 calories in a day! what would my recommended calories be for weight loss? I was hoping to lose 2 pounds a week if possible.

Thank you to all and take care ☺️

Sorry to say but that won't be accurate. The Polar HRM is designed only for use during steady state cardio like walking, running, biking, etc. Using it all day will give skewed results. If you want that kind of reading, you will need a different device meant for all day tracking such as the FitBit or BodyMedia devices or if you like Polar, they have their Loop product.

P.S. You also sort of asked about the amount of weight you can lose per week. That all depends on how much weight you have to lose. Here is a good guidelines for goal setting:

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.

Thank you, I have used the Garmin Vivofit and it came up to around 3k as well, I shall up my calories to 1500 to see if that works for me.

    Thank you Minnie.
