Fresh made smoothies and whole fruit juicing

Just got back from Sam's and while I was there I bought a "Ninja Master Prep Professional". I have seen the infomercials for years and always thought too much money for a blender. As a retired Chef most kitchen gadgets do not impress me but I am extremely impressed with my new Ninja. It really does work like it says on TV. Already made a banana smoothie and an orange and yogurt "ice cream".

I am really trying to eat fresh fruits and veggies and I think my "Ninja" will help.

I use to have a juicer but it was such a pain to clean.

Does anyone out there have any recipes for some smoothies or whole fruit juicing that they will share'

Oh and the "Ninja" system was only $49.......better than the $100 on TV.

    My favorite breakfast smoothie is
1 cup fresh oj or 2 medium oranges
    1 cup frozen strawberries
    1/2 cup frozen raspberries
    1/2 cup Fage Greek yogurt

For a green smoothie I like
    1 c nakeds green machine
    3/4 c frozen pineapple
    1/2 c ice
    1/2 c Fage

Naked has a variety of smoothie bases I like to use and experiment with adding different frozen things. The Greek yogurt is pretty consistant as it's a good source of protein.

    Banana, protein powder, milk.

All you need. Throw in some blueberries.

my fav lately is frozen tropical fruit blend (strawberries, mangos, peaches and pineapple) with 1c of almond milk, 1c diet pom cran juice and 50 grams of protien powder...nom nom

I don't add yogurt as it makes them too thick..I prefer to drink mine.

Add in some spinich if you want as well or flax seed or almonds...avoid kale tho that's icky when mixed with spinich.

I like 1-2 cups of spinach, 1-2 cups frozen fruit, and 1 cup Minute Maid's 15 calorie lemonade.

I got the eating bug when I worked for an upscale hotel. I had gone from eating canned this and cheap that to being introduced to wonderful new foods!

You might say that I have champagne tastes with a beer budget.

Factor in a kid who is gluten free and a Vitamix found its way into my life!
