29/f 5'9" 250lbs

I lost 60 lbs before I found MFP and got down to 180, then I had a child and ignored everything until Friday last week. I was back up to 234, but I recommitted myself. I WILL hold myself accountable this time. I am excited! I did a 5k in 36 min on the elliptical yesterday (today is Day 4 of my journey) and I am doing a mud run on September 20. I have completely changed my eating habits and started a tumblr transformation/fistporation blog as well. I am looking forward to getting to know people who have the same struggles that I do. I want to learn as much about fitness and nutrition as possible. Sure, splenda has no calories, but is it good for your body? There is so much I want to learn! Any tips, tricks, anything at all, I would love to hear them.

Right. Well, do whatever is fun for you and you'll stick with it. I run and do my abs and that's it. Another thing, I do weekly cals, not daily. I usually save some cals every day for Sunday so I can "cheat" without really cheating :). And be happy. You deserve this so be happy in your journey...

I don't comment much, but I'm 28, 5'9", and started (this time!) at 235. So I know your pain! My journal is private, but I'm going to make it public in the next few days if you want to look at it. I work with a trainer and am focusing more on leaning out now that I've lost some weight. Food wise, I've moved from watching calories to watching my macros, but calories definitely helped me start off. Exercise-wise, I do 3-4 days of cardio, 2-3 days of weights, and try to get yoga in 2-3 days a week. You definitely have to find what works for you and what you can stick with! Good luck, and feel free to add me as a friend if you want!
