OK, so we all have been told over and over how good sleep is for us. Good for brain function, stress, recovery aannddddd... WEIGHT LOSS. I think we should have a sleep counter on this site!!! Put it right next to the water counter! If sleep is such a big component in our lives (we all spend a lot of time doing it! AND its such a big part of weight loss...we should be able to keep track of it! Any body agree?!

    I think that there should be an additional counter next to the water counter that is generic. It goes up in 1/2 units but you can name the unit and the ticker. I would name mine "servings of vegetables". You could name yours "hours of sleep"

    Odly enough as I have been shredding pounds i am sleeping worse, it bums me out too :(

    Me too. The more weight I've lost, the more energy I have and sometimes (ok, most nights) I have trouble whinding down, relaxing enough to go to sleep.

    But when I was bigger, I have to admit that I don't think it was so much sleep as it was a food coma. I had so much crap in me that my body had to shut down all the other functions in order to process the junk.

    So there's definately some adjusting that I have to do, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

  • Agreed on the sleep counter. If you are lifting weights, or doing any exercise for over an hour you need at least 7 hours. I tend to get 7 or 8 hours a night pretty easily. However some nights, more recently while I've watched my carb intake, I find it HARDER to fall asleep. Odd huh?

    when in doubt work out harder...get tired :) i have slept better! It has actually helped my sleep cycles. i work out at lunch time get off work at one, do my thing then go to bed around 9...up at 0430

    Just be careful. Working out late a night, or even in the afternoon has shown it can cause you to stay up. Not the other way around.

    yep, I agree! This was suggested a few months back on these forums.

    I did a 67minute workout today and I am absolutely shattered! I havn't been sleeping very well recently, so I'm looking forward to a good 8 hours tonight. Yay!

    my work schedule is 0430-1 i have to work out at lunch or i dont do it at all
