I've been having a heck of a time lately with wanting to snack at night. Have the craving for something sweet. Anyone have any ideas?
Finding it very hard lately with keeping calories low AND keeping the carbs out of the diet. Seems like it easy to do one or the other but both........well any suggestions would be helpful.

Sugar free Jell-0, pudding, fudge bars, popsicles, hmm.. that's all I can think of at the moment. Sugar free jello is 10 cal a serving, pudding is 60, fudge bars anywhere from 40-100, popsicles around 25-500

Now when I was craving something sweet I snacked on salty things such as pickles which are very, very low calorie (store pickles are high in sodium) - I pickled my own so I had control over the sodium some what.
You don't want to give in to sweet cravings by eating stuff with artificial sweeteners or sugar............the point is to rid yourself of the cravings.
You could also read, do something to keep your hands busy, etc...........in other words find something to do.
In 2003, I lost 100+ pounds on Atkins and I was able to keep it off for some years, until I was diagnosed with thyroid issues.
What phase are you in also?0 -
I'm in my 3rd month but try to stay below 50 grams and the 50 grams is healthy items.0

Are you moving up the carb ladder and you should be adding in 5 grams of carbs every week until you stop losing so you can find your own personal carb threshold.
These things mentioned above are the KEY to keeping the weight off as you get close to your goal. I am not trying to preach, just offer some friendly tips. One of my pet peeves is for someone to embark on the low carb way of eating and then they gain weight back from not doing the plan the way it is intended and then they say it doesn't work..........
Not saying that is you or anything, just saying in general. :flowerforyou:
You should be adding your carbs back in, in this order:
1. More salad and other vegetables
2. Fresh cheeses (as well as more aged cheese)
3. Nuts and Seeds
4. Berries, then melons
5. Dry wine (and other spirits low in carbs)
6. Legumes
7. Other Fruits
8. Starchy vegetables
9. Whole grains0 -
I agree 100%.
Ive added 1-3 successfully
1. More salad and other vegetables
2. Fresh cheeses (as well as more aged cheese)
3. Nuts and Seeds
and instant gits and oatmeal for breakfast only when I'm exercising that day.
I'm within 10 pounds of my goal and this is the hardest 10 to lose............
Thinking about abandoning the diet all together and just starting P90X after a quick healthy transition off of Atkins.
Might be the best way to lose that last 10 pounds of fat while gaining healthy tissue. I'll have to rely on measurements 100% as the scale is going to lie.0
