New & Determined

Morning! My name is Melissa, I'm 30 years old from Ontario, Canada. For the last 10 months I was in a state of hibernation (for lack of a better term) minus work I did absolutely nothing but sit at home and play video games!
I noticed my clothes getting tighter and when summer came around none of my summer clothes fit! I was depressed. Finally I bought a scale and I could not believe what I saw... almost 200lbs!!! I managed to gain 60 pounds in 10 months!!!I have never been this heavy in my life (even through 3 pregnancies I never surpassed 175 lbs). Instead of being all sad and depressed I became determined instead.
I'm not going on a diet, I don't believe in them. I am changing my lifestyle. I made the conscience decision to eat healthy (something I have not been doing at all). I bought an elliptical trainer, I raised my desk at work so that I am standing, not sitting all day and when I need to sit, I have replaced my chair with an exercise ball.
I begun waking up at 5am and working out (alternating between my elliptical one day and a 30 day "fat burn extreme work out" the next). I have a 12 week goal hoping to lose 30 lbs. My overall goal is for June 2015 - I would like to be 140 lbs, toned and comfortable in my skin again. I don't think that is too extreme of a goal... that gives me 10 months to lose 60 pounds.
I am looking forward to being a part of this site, learning new things and meeting like minded people!

Hi Melissa! I'm kinda in the same boat as you...29 yrs old and regained 30 lbs in the last 3 months! Eh, it happens. Right!?
I'm glad you've found determination...that's all it takes! That, and consistency. Certainly sounds you're on the right track! I'm happy to send you a friend request. I found MFP very helpful in the past and ignorantly abandoned it. So, here I am again.
