Actually I created an account some time ago, but never really began using it until recently.

All my life my weight has been up and down like a yo-yo. I have tried everything imaginable to lose weight (diet pills, injections, weight watchers, exercise, fasting, vegetarianism, low carb, high carb, no carb, low fat, low calorie, high protein, raw food, zone, paleo).

I have lost 100 pounds twice in my life and twice I have regained the weight. Now I have health problems like diabetes and high blood pressure and some symptoms that may not be reversible. Yet I am determined to change my life nonetheless.

My wife and I have begun a program at a place called Preventive Medicine Center and it's good to be under a doctor's caring supervision. The program consists of a very low calorie diet to kick-start your weight loss and then you slowly add food back into your diet.We purchase their packaged foods but also on occasion we eat regular food, just being mindful of our calorie and carb intake. It also helps to log food and exercise in My Fitness Pal every day.

My highest weight was 380 and these days I'm at 310. I've lost 25 of those pounds since beginning this program at Preventive Medicine Center. I have hope that "by the grace of God" I can get my weight under control and maybe undo some of the damage done to my body.

Welcome! Great work so far on your weight loss. It's great that you are having such close supervision, that should really help. With your wife on the same programme you have backup at home too. Looking forward to seeing you post in the Success Stories section soon!

Kudos for never giving up. If you need a doctor's supervision to help you, then you do what's good for you. Sometimes we lose the weight but we don't learn the healthy lessons that come with it and that causes us to regain it. Good luck this time around for you and your wife.
