When will I see a glimmer of hope

I am really impatient and have been trying this site for only a couple of weeks now. I know that weight loss takes time and I am willing to put in that and the effort. I am curious though how long before I will see something for the short time of hard work I am putting in. Can anyone offer me some encouragement of something to look forward to?
Thanks and Have a great day!

You've been on MFP two weeks and lost two pounds! WAY TO GO!!
See? You're already seeing results.0 -
Losing weight is a little like sitting in a class or at a job on a friday- IT JUST WON'T END. I don't say that to discourage you, just that "looking at the clock" (scale as it were) just makes it feel that much more interminable. You are doing well already- 2 lbs in 2 weeks is a normal, healthy pace. Take your mind off the clock, and focus on creating and maintaining a healthy, active life. The lbs will come off.0

Joy,
It will happen. follow your food, exercise, calories, etc. Stay the course, it will work. Your body must react to it. As soon as you start losing a pound or two, that's the incentive you, and the rest of us needs. One day at a time.0 -
Took me 3 months of working my *kitten* off before i dropped anything...i was on this website, doing everything right...i'm glad for my friends on here because i was seriously peeved...then all of a sudden my body stopped fighting me and taaaa daaaa i've lost 20lbs...so hang in there, it does suck not seeing any reward, but it will happen...0

I don't remember when I really started notice the weight loss myself...my friends and family started to make comments about how I was looking different and I sat down and started comparing pictures...that's how I notice it most easily...it wasn't until I started to lose larger amounts that I noticed other changes..but when you do..they are great. Keep at it. You will get there!0

There isn't anyone on this site that hasn't wished they could wake up in the morning and suddenly be thin... but we all know it doesn't work that way. As you start to see progress, you won't be quite so impatient. Just don't get frustrated, and remember that the longer it takes to get it off, the less likely you are to put it back on. Nothing worth doing is easy.0

Also, get a tape measure. Measure yourself & keep a record of that. I found that my inches changed a lot before the scale ever did. Stay the course. You'll get there. Remember that you didn't put it on in 2 weeks.0

My family and friends saw my hard work before I could! My hubby kept telling me I was loosing and where he could see the difference...I didn't. Weeks later, lots of friends starting telling me. THEN...I took a picture and there was the proof. My clothes surely tell the difference. I kept saying I have a pair of jeans I want to wear, when I finally got the nerve to try them on THEY ARE NOW TOO BIG! Hang in there.0
