In a few threads I see a lot of people eating eggs. I've been avoiding them a little bit, they seem like too many calories for not feeling very full. How are y'all preparing them?

EGGS!!! Love them, eat them all the time! Scrambled, over easy, egg whites, omelettes, it doesn't matter! 70 cal 7g protein an egg- can't go wrong0

I eat 3 eggs every morning (2 egg whites and one whole egg). I make mine scrambled because it's the easiest. (I also have some oatmeal for breakfast.)
Good source of protein, and it keeps me feeling full.0 -
I like my eggs fried in coconut oil or rendered bacon fat. 3 eggs cooked like that will keep me full for hours too.0

I actually make an omelette every morning using Eggbeaters. 1/4 a cup is only 30 calories!0

2 eggs, 2 whites, scrambled with a bit of milk.
Will add cinnamon if I want something sweet or curry powder if not.0 -
they keep me very full. You can do egg whites for VERY few calories too. (I find they don't keep me as full though.) I use the whole thing because I don't like to waste food and i think that, since cholesterol is not an issue here, there are benefits to the yellows as well. I do two maybe with some cheese if it's a cardio day and I get extra calories on an english muffin and it takes me for several hours in the morning. About 320 cals. I can do it with low cal WW toast for fewer cals. On super cardio days I might eat 3, but I am eating at maintenance so I have about 500 extra cals to work with. I have found that on a 2000 cal diet that 3 scrambled eggs and a piece of toast is nothing as far as dipping into my daily totals.0

I love them - they leave me feeling much more full than eating carbs for breakfast. I'll eat them almost any way - hard boiled, scrambled (really yummy with onions and peppers), over-easy, in an omelet. Sometimes I'll add egg whites to my 2-egg scrambled eggs or omelet, but I try not to add too much because it's a bit of sodium.
In general, I find a mix of proteins and fat to be the best breakfast for me - I don't crave too much in the late mornings (though I do try to have a snack) and it keeps me full and satisfied. I generally try to eat 300 calorie breakfasts - 2 eggs is only 150 calories, so I don't usually eat eggs *only*.
If I don't have eggs for breakfast, hard-boiled eggs make a great morning or afternoon snack.0 -

I love eggs...I eat them fried, boiled......but mainly boiled to avoid the oil.....but when I feel for a treat, I make myself a nice fried egg sandwich0

I eat eggs everyday for breakfast. I normally have scrambled and I use one whole egg then I buy liquid egg whites (hate throwing the yolk away!). If I don't do that then I have one egg sunny side up (made with cooking spray) with a bagel or toast0

I think eggs are a great food for feeling full and satisfied but I don't eat them because of the cholestrol and calories when compared to an egg beaters product that gives me the full satisfied feeling without the cholesterol and calories.
So liquid egg products are always on my shopping list.
My favorite way is an omlet. I just dump in lots of veggies in with some cooking spray and let them heat up and soften and then I pour a serving of egg product (egg whites) over it flip it so it's coooked on both sides and eat up. Only about 100 calories.
The egg product is also good made as a french toast (on 35 calorie bread) with sugar free syrup. Again less than a 100 calories per slice.

hmm I've been staying away from eggs too.
but just had a quick look.. my fav a soft boiled egg is between 70 and 74 calories. now if i have that with 2 cruskits at 43 calories for 2 of them I can have a nice snack over the weekend or brekkie for very few calories.
And I have to have the yolk left in the egg.. otherwise its just an egg to me and its my favorite part haha :smooched:0 -

FYI - there is actually considerable debate in the scientific community over the connection between food cholesterol and blood cholesterol levels. Plenty of people can eat regular cholesterol amounts and not have it affect blood cholesterol at all - it appears that some individuals are particularly sensitive, but they are by far the minority. Genetics affect blood cholesterol far more than dietary cholesterol can.

I like to buy the eggwhites only and then spray pam in a glass bowl,,, stick them in the microwave for a minute or two then put the "egg patty" between two pieces of whole grain bread/toast with some pepper and a lil honey... so good!!!0

I'm wondering how many is too many. Recently I've gone as high as a 5 egg omelette. And years ago when I used to go to an aqua-fit class and was fitter than I'd been in forever until now I used to live off omelettes. I just wonder how many is too many. I've never had cholesterol issues, my blood pressure is fine and all that so I'm not worried about that. Just wondering if too many is unhealthy or not.0

Back in 2003 when I first started Atkins I was eating about a dozen of eggs every day or every other day.............I litterally lived off eggs and salads............LOL.
My cholesterol went down, trigs went down and my blood work has been perfect since then. Actually my last blood work my doctor is now asking me to raise my cholesterol back up a bit. It has gotten almost too low.0 -
I eat at least 18 a week. I usually have a dozen boiled in the fridge at all times. Perfect for high protein snacking (portable), sometimes I eat the yolk, sometimes not. You can make a huge 2 egg omelet, stuffed with anything you like. My fav is low fat cheddar, Hormel lowfat/low sodium bacon crumbles, and mushrooms. Top it with a little salsa....Yum! Most days I have 1/2 cup (dry) oatmeal loaded with cinn and nutmeg, a bit of butter, and a couple boiled eggs for breakfast. The yolk has a lot of good for you stuff in it. If you have ever had problems with excessive hair shedding while losing weight, eat 3-5 yolks a week and it keeps your hair from falling out and keeps it shiny too.0

Love eggs. Scrambled, Over-easy, boiled, as a salad or omelet. You name it. I can eat it anytime. Thanks for the post, it's giving me ideas. I'll think I'll start eating egg whites (or egg beater) more often in the day to increase my protein intake.0

mmm eggs are the bomb!
this morning i made myself a WW english muffin, fried up one egg with some pepper, sliced up some part skim mozzarella, and topped the egg off with some sriracha or sometimes i do salsa.

I love eggs as a snack or for breakfast. Even Bob on the Biggest Looser endorsed them last night. It's just like everything...good in moderation.0
