Advice on cardio with a strained ab muscle.

So I found out I have strained my left ab muscle and doctor has told me it's not that bad but I need to avoid any exercise that hurts me at all. I asked him for cardio that I can do and he said probably swimming and bike. I am not much of a swimmer and recumbent bike a bit but seem to get really bored with it. My two favorite exercises are jogging and elliptical both of which hurt me right now...
So anyone have any experience with something like this and have a good suggestion on cardio or just any cardio suggestion in general I could try that isn't swimming or recumbent bike?
