I've eaten entire pizzas as treats. Obviously not the best thing to do so don't use that as an excuse. :p I've lost 45 pounds even while doing that. As I like to say, there's no point losing weight if you lose your sanity along with it.

If it's within your calorie goal why not?! :drinker:

Yes. I say 80% healthy foods and 20% indulgent. If you never let yourself have a treat, you're more likely to binge later. 80/20 is a habit that you can continue even after reaching your goal.

Hmmm, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree... It's not ok*

*with the following caveat that if you're already at your goal/target weight/whatever then yes, a planned treat is ok. If not then you're just harming/delaying your progress.

How are you harming or delaying your progress if you still end up under your calorie goals for the day? Is it because of "evil" sugar or some BS like that?

I think it's OK to have the odd treat even if you go over your calorie goal by a small amount - as long as you know it will slow you down a bit. I have my weight loss goal set at 2lb a week loss but don't really mind if some weeks I end up losing 1lb; I am changing my habits a little bit at a time after years of comfort eating and that works for me :)

No. Never. You must always restrict yourself and touture yourself in order to lose weight and inches.

I can't like myself for using up that many calories on a snack/cheat. I bought the Weight Watchers Chocolate Creme Cakes today. Hoping the little 3 bites of 90 calories will push off my chocolate craving. I have found out that if I ignore it and not treat myself I'll binge. Like, I'll want 2 big bags of M&Ms - almond and peanut butter instead. And, I've learned that the better, cleaner, I eat the less I crave chocolate and sweets.

What kind? Light? Full flavor? Just one serving? Just curious. My daughter loves ice cream, so it seems to be in the house a lot. I just try to ignore it or by my own snacks instead.

IIFYM (if it fits your macros). /done thread.

Have your cake and eat it too, good job working hard to meet your calorie goals and leaving room for a treat+++++ Couldn't imagine not having all of my favorite foods and treats in my life.

I track my calories per week, rather than per day. That way I can allocate calories to the things I want and I don't have to freak out if I go over my calorie goal on a particular day. This makes like a lot less stressful for me.

My treat for the day, or should I say week, was a chili cheese dog from Dairy Queen. I've still got a little over 400 calories left for the day. So I'm good. Now, will I have a chili cheese dog every day, or once a week? No. But, maybe once a month. Hence the word treat

No. Absolutely not. It is never ever okay to have a treat. Ever. Never ever. Ever never. No no no. No treats for you.
