Calorie breakdown

Hi everyone. I have noticed a discrepancy in the calorie breakdown provided by a diet book and when I use MFP to scan the foods I cook with. For instance, a recipe in the book said 288 calories, 28g protein, 26g carbs 10g fat, 5g fibre. when i cooked the meal (using ingredients suggested - no brands were named, and measuring the quantities) I got - according to MFP - 474 calories and 44.2, 56.5, 12.7, 12.3 respectively.
Anyone have any suggestions why or if I am doing something wrong?
Thanks!
