Calories right but what about sugar and fat and protien

I'm still struggling with my nutrients. Specifically the protein and fat, (and getting better with the sugar but still over more than not).
If your week shows your calorie intake on target but protein still not reached often, should you still expect a loss?
If your calories are on target but over in fat or sugar are over, I don't think I'd have the same results, would I? What's happening to the body with fats and sugars going over but staying in calorie deficit?
I just can't seem to balance and i think I am better off staying with the deflect while not worrying about the sugar and fat? But that doesn't actually sound right either. Am I over concerned with trying to get it balanced or trying to meet all the nutrient goals?
Thanks again

I figure that unless I'm actually considering bodybuilding, I don't need to get too picky with the macros. I try to get close on my protein just because I lift, and I try to ensure that my fat doesn't get too far over or under, and the rest I don't worry about. But then, I eat a very wide variety of foods, with lots of fresh veggies and lots of colors, so I'm fairly certain that my diet does not promote deficiencies.

You should try to be in the general ballpark, but don't stress trying to hit your macros exactly.

Macros won't matter for weight loss, just the deficit, so focus on the deficit first. When that's down, look over the past week or so of you diet and see how you are doing on the macros and if you want to adjust. Some things may matter to you and some not. For me, I try hard to get a certain level of protein, but don't care if I go over fat some or sugar. (I was never close to the sugar limit in the winter but am lately, because I eat lots of fruit in the summer. That doesn't concern me.). There are a wide range of acceptable macro breakdowns, and they are really about health and getting a balanced diet. If way out of whack it might give you an idea of what to work on, especially if you are having trouble meeting your goal, but don't stress about them at first--it makes this harder than it needs to be.
