Overtraining

So I started with a trainer to help rehab a bulging disk, that I've been seeing a Chiropractor for. I'm military and pretty fit to begin with, but wanted some help to improve my PT score, and strengthen my lower back to help with my Chiropractor's adjustments. My Chiropractor said that I can train with no restrictions. However, the past few sessions with my trainer have been pretty jumping intensive (last one was a lot of burpees), and even though at the time I feel great, about 2 days later I feel like I got hit by a train. In basic training, I was used to being sore almost all the time, but not like this. It seems really strange that the soreness is so delayed and it effects training for almost the rest of the week.

A) What is the best way to approach this with my trainer?
B) How can I tell if I have overtrained, if my body seems fine to keep going and isn't telling me anything until days later?

Delayed soreness is pretty common. If you are really sore (not able to move normally) for more than 2 or 3 days, you have probably overdone it. A good trainer will know this. Just tell it like it is. Working you so hard that you can't move should not be your trainer's goal and frankly can lead to injury.

Thanks for the input; I'll definitely have a talk with him. I think overdoing it with the burpees is what did it. I foam roll after every work out and take BCAA and L-Glutamine for quicker recovery. I should not be feeling like this after a work out 2 days ago.
