I start to realize something really weird about myself- I am quite obsessed with exercising that I keep thinking about working out the next day, and that makes me unable to sleep properly. I had too much free time and my thoughts are mostly about working out, and I find that pretty unhealthy now- its' too much. Anyone ever have this problem?

sounds like you need more heavy squats and deadlifts in your life.
try lying in bed awake after those0 -

LOL, my thoughts exactly. Since I started lifting my insomnia and laying awake in bed at night thinking has been NONEXISTENT. I'm comatose within minutes of hitting the bed and sleep solidly through the night (unless I've over-hydrated....)0 -
I did those too, and thats the problem: because i just started lifting recently, i am quite excited to see my progress and do lifts the next day. So i cant get my head out of it, lols.0

Are the weights challenging for you yet or are you still working on form?0
-
It depends; like bench press and shoulder pressed- challenging. But deadlift i am still working on form because i have a severe back pain and i dont want to get physically hurt from doing too much0
-
That explains it then. It's the deadlift especially that's known for knocking you on your @ss at night. Once you start pushing the weight on that one, trust me, you'll have no problems sleeping  . Still, better to go slow and take your time on form. Do you know what it is that's causing your back pain?0

Ahh, I see :P thank you! Well, I have scoliosis, and maybe that's why I've been having chronic back pain. My spine is crooked, and I was stressed frequently last year due to senior year in highschool, so it hasn't been that healthy after that0

oh no be careful with thati dont know about scoliosis. does that mean you have to avoid exercises that compress the back? that's definitely the squat and deadlift. are you working with a physical therapist?
but in general one thing that works really well for me since i was a kid when i cant get to sleep is to say goodnight to my body piece by piece  it sounds weird but you start with your toes and work your way up. the one time i made it all the way to my hair was the night i forgot i had drank 1 liter of diet mountain dew an hour before going to sleep :laugh:0 -

You would think... nope.
