What should my heart rate be at to burn an optimum amount of calories? I don't have a hear rate minitor yet, but the elliptical and bikes at my gym do it for me...

Here's a link to a Heart Rate calcultor at the Mayo Clinic site so you can caluculate what it is supposed to be on your specific info.

but for vigous exercise it's about 220 - your age

thanks hun! It said between 140 and 170 was a good hear rate for me, but 197 is the max. I do usually between 164 and 176.0
