I've been here for about a week, and love myfitnesspal. It's really taken the work out of tracking things, and I've already lost 2lbs! Great to be making this journey and enjoying changing my lifestyle. Adding a protein shake and eating more wholemeal has curbed any cravings, really easily, which is a relief, not that I was guzzling a lot before, but I was definitely eating more calories than I realised and very inactive.
Starting at a point of a lot of physical pain and wasted muscles, but I really know that I can make this journey, just by taking it steadily, learning things right, being careful, taking the right pain medication, and knowing that this is a science ... no matter how low my ability now, I can get a little better, then a bit better, and so on. I know it's a waste of time to get frustrated, so just don't feed those thoughts ... better to power on, and there's plenty to do, lol, what with making food choices, learning about and doing exercise (DDP yoga and weights are what I'm focussing on doing), using the Polar FT4, learning about BMI and resting metabolism etc (and measuring that) ... all makes it fun, plus I have about 6 stones to lose, and Arthur Boorman is such an inspiration to me ... made me realise I can do it and how.
Very inspiring to read everyone's advice and stories, and I'm really glad to be here. Hope to provide some inspiration myself along the way.
