Okay, here is my problem. I have been working out with a trainer for 3 days a week and I do a vigours step and sculpt and a total sculpt class in between the training sessions (for two weeks now). I've been on "Myfitnesspal" for 5 days really logging everthing I eat and I'm always under calorie. (My trainer says to eat 1800 , my fitness plan says 1200 either way I'm under) I refuse to buy prepackaged food. I love to cook and I've paired down every recipe that I have to be healthy. I read everything I buy to eat, checking the serving size as well as the calories. No fried foods, no bacon. My clothes are fitting looser, probably from all the exercising that I'm getting now that I wasn't before, but I'm not loosing any weight. I'm still stuck at 200lbs. I would be happy if my scale one day said 199 instead, but it doesn't move! Am I stuck at plato already, should I eat more should I eat less. Or am I rushing things take it easy and keep doing what I do? Any advice?

MFP suggests 1200 plus the extra calories you burned through exercise. So if you burn 400 calories you should eat 1600 (1200+400)0

If you're working out that much, you are certainly gaining MUSCLE which weighs more than fat. And if your clothes are fitting better, then that's great! Do try making sure to eat enough calories if you are exercising that much, you don't want your body to go into starvation mode.0

had the same thing happen to me. my Dr told me it was from the fact that i was burning fat but gaining muscle so the scale didn't move. muscle ways more then fat. i hope that helped0

Make sure you are eating enough and drinking plenty of water and be patient.0

Give it time. This is a lifestyle change, not an overnight fix. It takes your body some time to adjust to change. Also, as eric said, be sure you're eating some of your exercise calories.0

Hi and welcome! First, make sure that you are eating at least 1200 cals a day. That is important. To repeat another response, you should also be eating some of those exercise cals back as your body needs the energy. My weight loss has been slower than others because I am also doing a vigorous strength training program at the gym to tone the muscles hiding under all this fat. I've only lost about 5 pounds in the last few weeks but the tape measure is showing that the inches are quickly coming off.0

1. bacon isnt that bad for you..70 calories for 2 peices...sooo worth it (turkey bacon is the same cals..but gross..less sat fat though)
2.you need to eat more...ATLEAST 1200
3.if your clothes are fitting looser than stop concentrating on the scale
4.you didnt gain all the weight in five days..dont expect lose it either..it takes time, actually the longer it takes the better it is for your body, it has more time to adjust...
5.keep at it! your doing great!0 -
You sound like you are losing weight and gaining muscle, after all your clothes are getting loose. As already mentioned eat 1200 calories plus what calories you burn.0

HOw much are you eating? That BMR is probably pretty close. So you may want to try to eat more if your not gettting enough. If your not getting enough you will stuggle to loose.0

If your clothes are getting looser, then you are losing fat! That's great! Keep it up and you will see the scale move. Being under your calorie goal isn't always a good thing. Try to eat what is recommended on MFP. It's difficult to get out of the mindset that if you eat less, you will lose more. You just have to make sure you eat enough to sustain your workouts too.0

As others have said, you really need to eat more. If you're not making the 1200 MFP allots AND you're working out that much you are not doing your metabolism any favors. The reason your trainer says 1800 is likely because of exercise calories, which you should eat at least SOME of. So definitely increase the intake. I know its tough, even if only mentally, but it's GOT to be done.
Also, something I don't believe anyone said, you might be retaining some water in your muscles. With all the toning that you're doing, which is more than likely WAY beyond the norm for you (I know it is for me!) your muscles are going to be working super hard to repair themselves, which means retaining some fluid.
Don't give up yet. Focus on the clothes fit and the knowledge that you're working on doing something healthy for yourself.0 -
You may br losing inches and not lbs. but you need to at least eat your 1200 calories with that much exercise or your body will go into starvation mode0

Common misconception, 1lb of muscle is the same as 1lb of fat, 1lb of fat however is going to take up more space0 -

Yes, a mass of muscle weighs more than the same *mass* of fat, ergo muscle weighs more than fat. It's not a misconception.0
