How to get rid of the pain in the muscles after excercising?

Please, what woudl be the best way to get rid of the pain in muscles after excercising?

Is lactic acid causing it?

    hot bath and drink plenty of water. Make sure you stretch properly before and after you exercise and get a good amount of protein in your diet.

    That won't necessarily stop the ache after a hard workout but may help speed up recovery time
