I am a teacher and I move around a lot, carrying books, going up / down stairs, moving around in class and so on .. I wonder how to calculate that ..
I tried to check it on here http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc and it came out 400 calories, that's huge !
How do you calculate calories burned during working hours ?

I don't. Instead, figure out what your "activity level" is (under "Goals"). For teachers, lightly active or active would be an appropriate choice. Then, MFP will give you a little bit higher base calorie goal based on usual work activity levels. Only log exercise calories for actual, planned workouts (evening walk, gym time, DVD, etc.).0

My daughter works two retail jobs, and got a Fit Bit for that very reason. An 8 hour day logs around 15000 steps (425-450 CAL)0

I really don't count them, but have set my daily activity level accordingly. I clean houses for a living, I have checked mfp and other websites , just for fun, to see what it says I've burned. But I wouldn't log it ever, because I feel like my body is so used to doing this anyway. You could get a hrm or fitbit though if your really interested in seeing what your burning daily.0

Get a fitbit or something, or just chalk it up to daily activity and adjust accordingly. (I'm a teacher as well)0 -
I used the scooby site to figure my TDEE. I picked moderate exercise 3-5 times per week. I adjust my calories from that for weight loss. It is an average so I don't take into consideration my job, which can be fairly active many days (I'm a massage therapist). I would assume you would probably fall into the same range!0

Being that my hours are inconsistent from week to week, I do. My Wii Fit meter calculates I burn from 250-430 calories, depending on how long my shifts are and how much movement I'm doing. I work replenishment, so I'm moving constantly for 5-6 hours straight. I'm pulling heavy u-boats, putting merch on the shelves, building planograms some days and all while helping customers when they come to me. So you bet I count that as a workout!0

Also a teacher and I put my activity level at Lightly Active and only log workouts. I just changed it to Lightly active though, because during the summer I'm sedentary! I spend most of my days in the summer on the couch on the computer or watching Netflix, LOL!
When school is session I'm constantly moving in the classroom, very seldom sitting at my desk so I know my activity level goes up.0
