How to Record Graveyard

Hey guys, quick question!
So I just got a job for a graveyard shift and I don't know how I can record food and liquid intake for if I eat there (I also like to keep track of my cigarettes).. does anyone else work graveyard shifts and could anyone else help me?
PS - it's McDonald's

You can rename your food categories however you want. Some people do theirs by time of day, like 7 AM to 10 AM, etc. You could call yours "At Work" or anything you feel. Also even if you wanted to call breakfast your 11 PM meal, it wouldn't matter. It's all about your preference!

You know, I go for total calories and if something is logged in breakfast or lunch or dinner..... so be it. I do have a midnight cut off. Before midnight is one day, after midnight goes on the next day. Just easier to keep track of and it evens out.

Also helps, I have the app that helps if you cannot get on MFP at night at work.

    Hope that helps.

mcdonalds is easy to track: they have an online nutrtion you can look up foods. log it in when you get off. I suggest you set your diary to another country's time zone so that the day doesn't end at midnight. Mine was set like that when I did super late nights. That way I could log on the day I wanted to. Label your meals how you want like one could say : Food at work, or something like that. I also suggest that you don't be driniing the pop just because you can. Drink water. Eat a parfait. Eat before you go. Have some apples. I worked at Taco Bell for years and took in so many calories just from pop and the free food. Be careful. . Just a suggestion.

OMG, the cigarette comment cracked me up!

You can change the headers in the food diary. So don't know how, but you can.

When I worked nights, I counted food from wake-up to sleep.

Tip: your life will be a hell of a lot easier if you switch your days at midnight. If it's 1:00 a.m. and you're talking about the next 8 p.m. you will encounter, say "tonight"...even if you've only been awake a couple hours and will be sleeping a full sleep before then, it's tonight.

If you don't, you'll be having conversations that include questions like this, "Wait, do you mean tonight, the night we are working right now or do you mean tonight, later today, after I've slept.?"

Today becomes yesterday at midnight. Tomorrow becomes today at midnight.

Also remember that people who don't work nights will not be doing that and remember that when they say "tomorrow" at 1 a.m., they Of Course mean later today, after they've slept. :)

I have 3 meals in my food log - Work, before bed, and dinner. Also have snacks, naturally. I record food based on the actual day, not based on when I sleep. so midnight to midnight. Seems to be the easiest way to keep track.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I will defiantly change the time zone on my diary.. I unfortunately don't drink water (I know, I know...) but I drink diet pop.. I know it's not good but it's at least better than getting 1000 calories in just through one shift... also yes I know it's weird to track cigs, but I have to be really careful about addiction and right now I smoke so I can have an excuse to sit down and relax for a moment... fast food is stressful, I've done it since I was 17 (am 21 now) and want to get out fast.. no pun intended.

I work as a nurse so 7pm to 730am. On my day into work I don't sleep ( up 24 hours) but just track any food from waking to midnight as that day. I eat my work meal (dinner) at 1am but label it breakfast so my breakfast that day after I get off will be lunch and my prework meal will be dinner. Calories usually average out. A typical working schedule for me looks like:

    Breakfast 0900
    Lunch 1200
    Prework small meal 1700
    Snack 2100
    Dinner 0100
    Snack 0500
    Breakfast 0730
    Sleep
    Coffee 1500
    Prework meal 1700
Repeat for 2 days then exchange prework meal with dinner at a later time.
