Drinking ice water doesn't burn enough calories to track. It's not good to drink ice water during workouts. I'm not totally sure why, but I know it will give you some major stomach cramps. It think the big problem is because the ice water makes your stomach and digestive system very cold, so it needs to pull more blood away from other areas of the body in order to heat back up.

Drinking ice water doesn't burn enough calories to really count.

Even in that article, they're assuming your gender, height, and weight and it's not particularly accurate.

I only really like my water ice cold. That's what I drink during a workout as well, but not a lot of it. I just take a few drinks as needed, then after is when I drink most of the water. I've never had an adverse reaction to it being cold.
  • I love cold water but while I am working out I drink room temperature water, it still satisfies and cools me off and after I drink cold water. I do it this way because I wast told that drinking cold water during workouts makes your body expend some of the energy it would normally used to burn fat/calories on warming up the water instead. And while I am working out I need all the energy I can get.
