Calories Given and Plateaus, help!

I used to use Noom Weight Lost, but then I got an iPhone and even though Noom was still available for iPhone, it wasn't as good as android. So I started strictly using MFP.

I have MFP set up at -1 pound a week (1830 calories for me). I used to have to set up 2 pounds a week (1320 calories). I find it easier to do it this way because I never reach the 1830 mark.

However, I have been on a plateau since April. :/
I will admit, I have been a little more strict for the past two weeks, and I went down a little, but now I'm exactly where I was again.
-I have been drinking water
-I have been exercising with a heart rate monitor for a more accurate calorie burn
-I put EXACT calories down. Even if I just enter quick calories, it's just because I don't want to search for the item.
-I do cardio AND lift

So I'm thinking maybe I should eat some of the calories back that I burn?
I don't know what to do! I'm so close to my next goal, and I just can't seem to get there to move on to my next goal. Any suggestions?

  • Do you eat back any of the calories that you burn through exercise? I'm wondering because if you're at 1830 calories a day which is already a 500 calorie deficit and you're burning even more calories then you're at an even bigger deficit per day and there's always the chance that your body isn't shedding weight because you have too much of a deficit. I would try eating some of the calories back you burn through exercise and see if that helps.

Silly question - but are you logging everything you eat? In the beginning of my Noom journey I was "lying" to myself and wasn't logging everything I ate. I wasn't logging all of the snacks I was eating in the evening. When I finally started logging everything I started loosing weight.

When I "completed my entry" I was at 1531 calories eaten with 866 calorie burned so I had 1,165 left. and I probably ate like 300 calories more. So I think when I exercise I should try to eat 1830 calories no matter what?

And when I was on Noom, yes I logged EVERYTHING. Well, minus Crystal Light drinks, I know 10 calories a drink can add up, but I prefer not to get too obsessed with logging food. I have had an unhealthy past with diet and exercise, and I want to lose it the healthy way, and it definitely didn't make a difference as I lost 30 pounds from January 24-April 30ish (I don't remember lol)
