Terrible chest pains during cardio?

I've been having a few bad days at the gym, but today was by far the worst. I was on the elliptical and about eight minutes in, I started having these awful chest pains. The people around me could see how visibly distressed I was and though I tried to continue onward at a lesser intensity, it didn't seem to help.

I fear these kinds of chest pains because I was hospitalized for them before; I had a very low heart rate and I'm afraid that this is happening again. But is there anyone else who gets chest pains during cardio and it just might be a normal thing? Or should I just consult a doctor and not risk it? :(

Go directly to your doctor. It may be nothing. However, a history of cardiac issues makes this something that deserves professional medical assessment.

With a history of the same thing previously - go to your doctor. Asking MFP people about a health issue like that is scary. Are you really going to be relieved if someone says, "Oh yeah, that happens to me?"

    Please go to your doctor.

Stop whatever you are doing and organize an appointment with your GP and get some follow up tests done such as stress test, chest X-rays etc or the next medical professionals you may be seeing will look like this...

Could be nothing but it is not worth the risk of ignoring.
