Decent but CHEAP running shoes

Hi MFP,

I've been looking around for some decent and affordable running shoes but can't seem to find any for what I would be doing. I'll be joining my university gym once I'm back in September and will just be using them for day to day exercise at the gym, treadmill, cross trainer, bike etc. I also don't want to spend a lot, being a poor student and all :P Ideally if I could find a good solid pair for about £30 that are going to last, then that'd be great. Any advice?

I'm also new to using the community features on MFP so I'm sorry if this has been asked recently!

We know nothing about you, and even less about your feet.

There isn't a shortcut to cheap with running shoes if you are going to be running, because your feet and gait are different to everyone else's. Good advice for me would be bad advice for you.

Of course, if you're not running, it's less important.

Trying finding an outlet mall that sells last years models. I usually get Saucony's because they fit me best. I've found a place that sells older models for less than 1/2 of new ones.

Your feet are exceptionally important to take care of so go to a specialty store and get properly fitted. The money you spend now will benefit you later in the way of no pain and injuries.

I like Asics but they are like $40-80. If you walk/run a lot they will only last a couple months anyway. But you do get what you pay for.
